Filmmaking Workshop

What: A monthly free-form workshop on all aspects of film making, with an emphasis on techniques and equipment for low budget independent movie making. Activities include:

  • Demonstrations of Equipment or Techniques:  If you have a new camera or new equipment and would like to demonstrate it or try it out, bring it with you.
  • Presentations:  Members may give a presentation on any topic related to film making. From writing the Screen Play to Editing to creating a Soundtrack.
  • Film/Movie Presentation:  Members bring short form videos to show to members for comment and encouragement. Finished or Work in Process, bring a 5 minute sample on DVD or VHS.
  • Other Activities:  We have a large "Green Screen" we often set up and shoot video for members to experiment with at home. We are also planning some workshops to make our own short film.

Why: Meet other local filmmakers; Learn new skills; Find people to help with your project, and volunteer to help with theirs; Share your ideas; Show off new equipment; Help develop a thriving movie making community in the North Alabama area.

When: First Sunday each month from 2 to 4pm. Check the Film Co-op Schedule since we sometimes have to change dates due to scheduling conflicts or holidays.

Where: At the Historic Lowe Mill in the Flying Monkey Arts Center (Map)
