Presented
by the Alabama Filmmakers Co-op (a.k.a. The Film Co-op)
Three consecutive Saturdays: The Film Co-op, in association with Workshop Director, Don Tingle, will once again host the 4th annual "Movie Makers: A Filmmaking Workshop for Kids" on Saturdays in July (12, 19, 26). The workshop is geared for kids from 12 to 15 years old. The fee for participation is $100 and includes all materials and snacks during the workshop. Please note: Due to parent concerns that the first Saturday is July 5th (a holiday weekend), and that school starts the first week in August, we are reducing the workshop to just 3 days. This also allows us to keep the fee to only $100 for another year. This intensive immersion
style workshop will provide hands-on demonstrations of movie making
techniques that kids can use to make their own movies or video projects.
Movie making is a Team Sport that fosters leadership, responsibility,
cooperation, organizational skills and an active imagination. Movie
making offers a chance for all kids to compete in film festivals while
also learning communications skills that will last a lifetime. Techniques
learned in this workshop can also help students create video reports
and documentaries for school projects. All participants will receive
a DVD of the final product. APPLICATION/REGISTRATION FORM Click here for the registration form. LOCATION In the historic Lowe Mill, at the Flying Monkey Arts Center, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville. (near the intersection of Memorial Parkway and Governors Drive) MORE INFORMATON Contact Don Tingle at 256-837-4359 or e-mail at
